Looking for a Friend in Furr! :)

Nathan is out of town this week and the next, and I have thrown myself into finding a furry companion!  I have been looking online, called a couple pet stores, and even bought a newspaper for the classifieds.  I'm going to look at the animal shelter today to see if they have any available.  The only problem is that Nathan is allergic to shedding dogs, so I need to find one that can live with us without leaving hair everywhere!  I'm hoping I find something that is little and allergy-sufferer friendly.  Let me know if you know of anything.  Here are some pictures of puppies I have found.  They are so cute and little!!!!

Last Week! :)

This last week was my first week working at Golf Course Road Church of Christ.  It was absolutely wonderful!  :)  I feel so blessed to be there already, and I just keep falling more in love with the church everytime we go.  Needless to say, I am loving my job. YAY!
Flowers for my first day from Pete and Lori!  I have the best In-Laws!
Nathan is working really hard at PDAP because their big Extreme Youth Leadership camp is coming up in a couple weeks.  I'm so proud of him, and how hard he works at his job.  He's so great!  Nathan and I were hoping that we would be going to Midlothian for Asa Rustin's birth this weekend, but he has decided he wants to wait a little longer.  We're just waiting for the call!  C'om Asa, we want to meet you!!!!  :)  Instead of rushing off to Midlothian, we got to go watch No Dry County play in Odessa.  They are so good!  Check them out! http://www.reverbnation.com/nodrycounty  Trent and Mitchell played at our wedding, and they were amazing!!!!!

This Saturday was also our third month to be married!  How quickly time flies when you're having so much fun!  I love you so much Nathan!!!!

Chronicles 29:13! :)

I know it has been too long since my last post.  Nathan and I have been so busy.  A couple weeks ago, he went to Arkansas for a training with PDAP, and I went to Summer Excitement!

God did a lot of wonderful things in my life during Summer Excitement.  He brought me some new friends that live in Midland, Kent and AnneMarie Rogers.  The crazy thing is that I met them at Summer Excitement last year, but really got to know them this year.  God knew exactly what he was doing!!!!  They go to church at Golf Course Road Church of Christ, and they were telling me they had some job openings at the church.  Nathan and I had been praying that I got a new job because I haven't had the best time at daycare.  Kent and AnneMarie got me in touch with the important people and out of no where, I became the receptionist/assistant to the preaching minister!  THANK THE LORD!!!!  He brought Nathan and I some great new friends, and me a new job!  I start at GCR on Monday the 11th!  I'm so thankful, and Nathan and I feel truly blessed.

Now, our God, we give you thanks and praise Your glorious name.  Chronicles 29:13

Last Couple Weeks! :)

Hello All!

I'm sorry it has been awhile since I have posted to our blog.  Two weekends ago, we went to Waxahachie/Midlothian to help the Holleman's move into their new home.  It was also Asa Rustin Holleman's baby shower!  It was so much fun getting to see the Hollemans.  We love them.  The shower was lots of fun, and Asa got a bunch of good stuff!!!  :)

This last weekend, we went to Lubbock.  (We've been traveling a lot!)  We hung out with my family on Saturday and celebrated Kellen and Jessica's 5 year Anniversary!!!!  Congrats Kellen and Jessica!

I also went to Kelsey Haynes's bridal shower on Sunday.  She had a great shower, and it was so wonderful to get to see her!  It was also amazing to get to see my friends, Shelbi and Brittney.  We had so much fun.
Me, Kelsey, Shelbi, and Brittney, Love you girls!!!!!

Miss you Kels, Congrats on getting married!

This week, Nathan is going to be teaching decision making and drug, tobacco, and alcohol prevention in Arkansas.  I'm so proud of him, and what he has decided to do with his career.  He loves it, and that helps me love it!  My mom is coming to Midland to stay with me.  I am so happy!  We are going to work on stuff for Summer Excitement this next week.  It is going to be good!

Today is my Poppy's birthday!  Happy Birthday, Poppy!!!!!!
Poppy and I!  I think I was just a couple months old!

I hope everyone has an amazing week!  Love to all!

So Thankful! :)

This blog post is dedicated to how thankful I am for all the blessings in my life, like my apartment and my husband.

A week ago, Tuesday, May 24, we were evacuated from our apartment because of a horrible wildfire very close to our apartment.  Thankfully, there was no structural damage in Midland at all.  I praise God for that completely.  When we were packing up things in our apartment before we evacuated, I realized it was one of those moments everyone talks about, but you never really think you're going to live it.  The "if you had 5 minutes to get things from your house, what would you grab" moment.  I grabbed pictures, clothes, and my computer.  I was frantic and freaking out.  Then there was Nathan.  Perfectly calm, cool, and collected.  He was already at the house when I showed up, and he simply hugged me and told me everything was going to be ok.  He was perfect.  He made me feel safe again.

After we were able to come home, we said a prayer of thanks for watching over Midland and saving so many homes.  Nathan and I drove around the areas that were burned the next day, and it was almost sickening how close the fire got to homes, churches, and some businesses.  I kept asking over and over, "How did they put the fire out?  The wind was horrible, how did they do it?"  Nathan simply answered, "God."  I completely agree with him.

I don't think I could be more thankful for my husband, and the blessing he is to my life.  He makes me want to be a better person and brings me closer to God through his walk with Christ.  Thank you, Lord for Nathan!!!!!!  :)

Nathan found an aerial view picture of the fire, and our apartment is circled and were the fire was stopped is pointed to by the arrow.  Just thought you would be interested.

5,000 acres burned.
"The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior;  my God is my rock, in whom I find protection.  He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety."  Psalm 18:2

So Thankful,
