Whoops....

Blogging has not been my winning horse this month, (see Enjoying the Small Things).  Nathan and I have jumped into Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University.  We have been budgeting, trying to give, trying to save, and trying to not lose our minds!!!!!  Honestly though, it has been a wonderful experience for us so far, but we do need a little extra of something.  SOOOO, I signed up to sell Thirty-One products.  I have never done anything like this before, and I am VERY nervous about it.  I have a great director, but I am so worried about people wanting to host parties.  But I am trying to be positive and just go for it. Thirty-One is a great opportunity for me, and I am selling it for 3 reasons.
1. To save up to buy me a new car! (I still have the Miata, and it currently has no back window. oh, and remember that last weekend is rained?  It was beautiful, but now my car smells like a pond.)  I want a Ford Edge, but I think that will always be a little (ok, a lot) out of our price range, but this will do!  A Nissian Juke, I know it's weird but for some reason I just really love it.
2. To help complete the baby steps in Dave's plan.
3. To give me something to do!

Don't get me wrong, I love Midland, but I am bored!  I have a few friends, but I want to get to know more people.  I think this will be a great way for me to do that.  I have my first party scheduled for my mom's house, and I am already practicing what I am going to say!  I'm so nervous!  I know this is going to be a good thing for me, because it puts me out of my comfort zone of sitting in our apartment watching That 70's Show and Office reruns on the weekends!  Haha!  :)

This week we are also watching some of our friend's kids while they are out of town.  I can tell you this, not all teenagers are crazy, rude, wild kids.  The kids we are keeping are so sweet and respectful.  One of them even told me NOT to unload the dishwasher, because she wanted to do it.  Wow!  I don't think I have ever or will ever stop someone from emptying my dishwasher.  These kids give me hope about this world!

I'll post a more exciting blog later.  I learned how to make FUDGE, and it was actually good.  I am going to give you the recipe soon.

Love to all!

Dirty Thirty!!! :)

Nathan came up with this post's name in honor of our brother, Christopher Preston Holleman, who turned 30 on Labor Day.  We took a trip down to Midlothian to celebrate his birthday and to see family and friends.  It was the perfect weekend.

A special thanks to Aaron and Whitney MacDonald who graciously let us stay in their beautiful house and the awesome Welcome Basket!  :)

Friday, Nathan and I got off work early, so we got to travel before the sun went down, which is different for us, since we usually arrive late at night when everyone is asleep.  It was great to have an extra night and day this time around.

Saturday was all about getting ready for Christopher's Dirty Thirty Birthday Bash that night.  Natalie was brave enough to let me help in the kitchen a little bit, and I got to help make the homemade peach ice cream!  It was really good!  We got to see all of Christopher's family and hang out with new friends. (Hi Whitney MacD, Hi Sarah U.!)  Nathan played baseball with a bunch of the kids, and all the women kept commenting on how great a dad they think Nathan is going to be.  It it good to be reminded how blessed I am to have Nathan as my husband.  I take him for granted all the time, but I hope he knows how much I love him and appreciate his awesomeness!  :)

Crockett LOVES Uncle Mate!
Kaden MacD ready to hit the ball!

Our little slugger!

Sunday was the best day.  We just sat around and did absolutely nothing.  It was wonderful.  We played with Crockett and held sweet baby Asa Rustin.  Sunday was awesome.

Nathan gave Crockett a bath.  What a cutie!!

"My Aunt (Kait) Digs Me"

Crockett found out that Nathan would swing him outside for hours, and definitely took advantage of the find, and Nathan loved it!  I loved watching and taking pictures of it!

He just kept saying, "CHHHEEESSSEEEE!"  When he saw I was taking pictures.

WWHEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!
Here is a picture of Banjo and his best friend, Mali.  They have a love/hate relationship.  Banjo loves Mali, and she hates him!  haha!

I hope everyone had a blessed and un-Labor-filled weekend!  :)
